Rachel's news, stories, and weddings

On Tuesday June 3rd, at 11:00 am, Children Awaiting Parents will be having an opening at Spot Coffee. Spot Coffee is located at 200 East Avenue in Rochester, NY.

Last summer I took photos of two brothers that are in foster care. Their names are Daniel and Dimriti. They were such a pleasure to meet and photograph!

Even though it was close to a year ago, I still think about them quite often and wonder how they are doing. Hopefully I'll get the chance to find out!

Sheila and Mike were in the Rochester area for a Memorial day weekend visit. Sheila and I have e-mailed furiously back and forth, but had not met before, so it was nice to put a face to the e-mails! They are such a sweet couple! We had a blast playing around with the different flowers that were blooming in the park. I can't wait to be a part of their day! Thanks again for choosing me Sheila and Mike!

Daniela and Adam won a free portrait session with me from entering the Rochester Bride and Groom's monthly contest. Congrats!

Emily and Justin were married at St. Michaels in Penn Yan. It is a beautiful old church with lots of stained glass windows, high vaulted ceilings, and a huge balcony overlooking the altar. Their wedding ceremony was elegant and simple, just the way Emily had hoped.

She wore a wonderful white gown with a tasteful string of pearls she later told me one of her bridesmaids made for her. Justin wore a black tux with a white lilly boutonniere. They really did look stunning.

After the ceremony the whole gang hopped into a limo bus by Park Place Limos. I must say their driver was thoughtful and attentive to their every need, and the bus had a/c! That doesn't sound very exciting, but driving in a full bus in summer without a/c is, well, fragrant:).

The reception at Belhurst Castle was fabulous. Carmen, Belhurst's friendly wedding coordinator was there to greet Emily, Justin, and the party with cold beverages and toasty horderves. Thanks to Emily and Justin's fun loving bridal party, they danced all night to the band, TS Ensemble from Albany. They rocked the house! Check them out at www.tsensemble.com. Good stuff.

Beth and Kurt came up from the big apple to spend some time with friends, family, and me! We went out to Pittsford village, then over to Mt. Hope cemetery for some fun and photos to celebrate their engagement. Beth and Kurt truly are two of the sweetest people I have had the chance to meet. I can't wait for their day!

I was lucky enough to get to hang out with three of the loveliest children I've ever met again this year. We looked for a dragon at Warner castle, and had to find all sorts of clues on the way. They are just the cutest kids!

Michelle and Todd are visiting the Rochester area to visit friends and family along with a few engagement parties thrown in for good measure. While they were here, they decided to do an engagement session. We had such a blast! We met at Charlotte beach, and if you haven't been there in a while, check it out! The water was blue and beautiful and the trees were in bloom. It is just beautiful. Michelle and Todd are such a blast to hang out with - I can't wait for their wedding!

Siblings Jeremy and Emily decided four years ago to grow their hair out to donate for locks of love. How thoughtful is that? Anyways, here they are!

Last summer I photographed Lisa and Tom's wedding at the Rabbit Room in Honeyoye Falls. We went to Mendon Ponds park for some images, and that is where this image was taken. The image will be the front cover of Greater Rochester Bride and Groom for the May - November issue. Congrats Lisa and Tom!!
